In 1980, UF College of Veterinary Medicine graduated its first class. Since then, there have been more than 2,000 graduates of their DVM degree program. Graduates of UFCVM have found careers in Florida, throughout the United States and overseas in fields ranging from traditional small and large animal practice, zoological and aquatic medicine, public health, epidemiology and the military.
UFCVM has also graduated over 200 individuals who are committed to advancing scientific medical knowledge, working in academia, biomedical sciences, government and industry to advance animal, human and environmental health. These graduates have also received their Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Veterinary Medical Sciences. Like with all veterinary schools, the UF College of Veterinary Medicine is highly competitive to get into and requires additional training and experience aside from course work.
